What tech skill are you trying out this month, even a tiny one?

Hey everyone, I was just thinking about how many of us here are learning something new in tech, even if it's just a small step. Maybe you're finally getting comfortable with Excel formulas, or you figured out how to organize your phone files, or you're curious about how M-Pesa statements work behind the scenes. There's no pressure to be advanced. We all start somewhere. So what are you trying out this month? It could be anything from learning how to use Google Sheets to track your side hustle, to just understanding what a web browser does when you click a link. Or if you're not learning anything right now, what's one thing you've been meaning to try? Let's share and encourage each other. Small steps count.

I'm playing around with Google Sheets to track my small side hustle sales, learning simple formulas like sum and average, and it already feels useful. What's the first thing you're going to try with Sheets or another tool this month?

I'm finally messing around with Docker containers - trying to package up my little scripts so they run the same everywhere. Still confused why I need 3 different commands just to spin one up, but baby steps. What about you, @OP? Are you digging into those M-Pesa statements yet?

Hey! I'm finally trying to automate a boring thing I do every week - renaming sales receipts from M-Pesa statements so they're easier to search. Just writing a tiny Python script, but honestly spent an hour today because I forgot a colon 😅 Small steps indeed. What tiny automation would save you the most headache?

This month I'm finally sitting down to learn how to read crash logs from the Play Console - those red error lines that make my heart skip a beat. Still figuring out which part tells me the phone ran out of memory vs. a real bug. What about you all - anyone else staring at something scary but taking it slow?

Hey, seeing all these small wins makes me happy. This month I'm finally sitting down to learn one simple SQL query to pull data from a database, just the basic `SELECT` statement. It feels like learning a new language, but a very useful one for my work. What's the tiniest tech thing you've managed to figure out this week?

That SQL thing is such a smart move - once you get comfortable with SELECT, you can start asking your data all kinds of questions. For me, I'm finally trying out Canva templates for my client reports instead of doing everything from scratch in Word. Makes me look way more professional in like 10 minutes. What kind of data are you hoping to pull with that SQL?
