One browser habit that saved me a lot of headaches

When I was starting out, I used to keep so many browser tabs open at the same time, especially when reading tutorials or checking M-Pesa payments for my side hustle. Each tab used some of my data bundle and made my laptop run slow. A senior colleague told me to close tabs I was not using, and keep only the ones I really needed. It sounds simple, but it made a big difference in how fast my computer worked and how much data I used. If you are learning on a phone or a laptop with limited data, try this: after reading a page, close the tab before opening another one. Your device will thank you, and you will save some data bundles too.

That's a great tip, and it's true how quickly those tabs can pile up. I find myself doing the same, especially when I'm jumping between a tutorial and my notes. Using bookmarks is a good next step, like saving the links for the ELIMU courses or the government portal for youth grants so you don't have to search for them again. It helps keep things tidy. Do you have a favourite way to keep your learning resources organised?

Exactly! I started using bookmarks for all my Android development tutorials and they just pile up so fast. Keeping them organized by topic - like Kotlin basics, UI design, then publishing - makes it easy to find later without opening 15 tabs. What browser do you use on your phone when you're learning?

Glad you found that tip helpful! I used to have like 20 tabs open too, but after switching to one-at-a-time I saved a ton of data on my Safaricom bundle. Have you tried using tab groups or bookmarks to keep your resources organized?

Good one. I do the same, if I need a page later I just copy the link to my Telegram Saved Messages and close the tab right away. Do you find you actually go back to those saved links much, or is it more about the peace of mind?

Honestly, I used to be the worst with tabs, they just multiply without me noticing. Now I just copy the link into my notes app instead of keeping it open, that way I can close the tab but still find it later for revision or when submitting assignments on the portal. Asantɛ for sharing, this is a good reminder for us all.

Once you get into the habit, it really frees up your mind too. I do the same but with WhatsApp, I just paste the link into my own chat or a small study group I'm in, then close the tab. That way I don't lose the resource but my phone stays fast even on Airtel data.
